In the old days
there was just cable television or reception
via an antenna mounted on the roof, which was
boring. The new way, and the future way of watch
your television programming is through the use
of a satellite tv dish.
In the old days
you could get a little box and a remote control
that would allow you to breeze through about
30 channels of mediocre cable broadcasting.
If you weren't 'lucky' enough to live within
the city limits then you were forced to gain
access to programming by placing an aerial on
your roof and hoping for the best. Or worse,
taking a proactive approach and actually climbing
up on your roof in order to tweek the antenna
for a better picture, or to try to get 4 channels
instead of three. Fortunately, those days are
over.
Like cable, satellite
tv services will charge you a monthly fee for
receiving their signals. The bright side is
that in return, you will be able to get many
more channels than you could have in 'the old
days'. Modern satellite tv is completely digital
and you have the option of receiving your signals
in high definition.
It couldn't be
easier to get started with the satellite tv
services. There are really only two dish companies
to choose from and they are Dish Network and
Directv®. Both offer a similar service and
the deals that they offer are fairly similar
as well.
You can get a
free satellite system for up to 4 rooms in your
home. You get a free dish and other standard
equipment, such as a remote for each of your
4 free receivers, and more. Installation is
usually free and is done by a professional installer.
They usually even have bonus offers such as
a free DVR recorder or free HDTV upgrade.
The only thing
left to do is to choose either Dish Network
or Directv® and then pick your programming
package. Be sure to pick a package that includes
the channels that you watch the most.
